Mit dem Fall des Social-Media-Embargos ist es endlich so weit: Die ersten Meinungen zu Superman trudeln ins Netz - und sie fallen überwiegend positiv aus.
Der Film, der am 10. Juli in unsere Kinos kommt, markiert den offiziellen Auftakt für das neue DCU unter James Gunn und Peter Safran. Gunn, gefeiert für seine Arbeiten an der Guardians of the Galaxy-Trilogie und The Suicide Squad, wagt sich diesmal an den ikonischsten aller Superhelden. Das Ergebnis kann sich offenbar sehen lassen.
Kritiker wie Erik Davis zeigen sich begeistert und nennen den Film ein „perfektes Superheldenabenteuer“ und einen „grandiosen Start“ für die neuen DC Studios. Andere, wie Bryan Sudfield, loben die Neuinterpretation als „mutig und doch respektvoll“, die den Charakter frisch wirken lasse, ohne seine Seele zu verlieren.
Natürlich gibt es auch die ein oder andere Gegenstimme: Peter Howell etwa kritisiert Gunns Storytelling-Fähigkeiten. Der Film sei zwar visuell überwältigend, erzählerisch aber schwach und teils auch „albern“.
Im Zentrum der Reaktionen stehen auch die Darsteller. David Corenswet als Superman wird vielfach gelobt, Rachel Brosnahan als Lois Lane und Nicholas Hoult als Lex Luthor schneiden ebenfalls positiv ab, vor allem die Chemie zwischen Brosnahan und Corenswet wird betont.

Viele Kritiker sehen in Superman alles in allem einen vielversprechenden Auftakt für das neue DCU. Der Film mag zwar nicht alle Erwartungen erfüllen, doch wer mutige Neuanfänge schätzt, dürfte mit diesem Film genau richtig liegen.
Man muß sagen: Es ist ja auch immer so eine Sache mit den ersten Reaktionen, die oft als bloße Momentaufnahme dienen - sie können begeistern, enttäuschen oder völlig danebenliegen. Wir sind also gespannt auf euren Eindruck, wenn ihr das Kino verlassen habt!
