Bevor es mit der Mutterserie The Walking Dead auf der San Diego Comic Con losgeht, bekommt erst einmal das neue Spin-off Tales of the Walking Dead den Vortritt in Halle H. Die anthologische Serie, die sechs Storys aus dem The Walking Dead-Universum erzählt, wird natürlich auch mit einem Trailer vorgestellt, neben dem üblichen Auftritt von Cast und Crew nebst TWD Universe-Mastermind Scott M. Gimple und dem auch visuellen Zombie-Meister Greg Nicotero. Hier erst einmal der Trailer:

Tales of the Walking Dead startet am 14. August in den USA bei AMC und AMC+, hierzulande wird Disney+ im Star-Bereich sicher wieder einen Tag später nachlegen, das wäre dann am 15. August. Angeteast wird auch eine Story über Schurkenlady Alpha (Samantha Morton), welche ebenfalls beim Panel dabei ist - ihr erinnert euch, die Whisperer-Queen! Vom Cast sind auch noch Terry Crews und Danny Ramirez auf der Bühne.

Ein Ortscomeback gibt es auch - welcome back Atlanta als Spielort! Darsteller Terry Crews äußerte deutlich seine Liebe zur Mutterserie und dem Zombie-Genre generell, er freut sich besonders, natürlich im Zuge der SDCC auch auf Stars der Mutterserie zu treffen. Und ist ein großer Tyreese-Fan.
Bezüglich des Alpha-Comebacks könnte uns gar noch eine Überraschung erwarten, vielleicht sehen wir nach dieser Folge einiges etwas anders, teast Morton:

Für den Part soll auch Scarlett Blum als junge Lydia wiederkehren. Wer weiß, vielleicht ist die Folge gar ein Sprungbrett für ein Alpha-Spin-off? Morton wäre dafür zu haben - und Gimple schaut bedeutungsschwanger drein^^:

Obwohl Fear The Walking Dead nicht auf der SDCC vertreten ist, gibt es dennoch ein Update: Die Produktion von Staffel 8 soll bald beginnen, erfuhren die Besucher:innen wohl via Video von Lennie James.

Der Trailer offenbart auch den Starttermin: Am 2. Oktober ist es in den USA bei AMC und AMC+ soweit, in Deutschland dann also auf Disney+ im Star-Bereich am 3. Oktober.
