Über ein Jahr war Funkstille, doch nun kommt es wieder um die Ecke geschossen: das The Raid Remake. Regisseur Patrick Hughes und Screen Gems sind tatsächlich raus, dafür bleibt Frank Grillo an Bord und die Produktion will XYZ Films stemmen - bis dato ohne Zweitstudio, aber das kommt vielleicht noch. Ein neuer Regisseur ist auch bereits verpflichtet, Joe Carnahan soll es nun machen. Was mit Taylor Kitsch ist, scheint noch unklar zu sein.
Die Ankündigung für das The Raid Remake machte Carnahan selbst via Instagram und Twitter, ihr findet die Tweets und das Instagram-Video unten angehängt. Darin verspricht er auch, dass es nicht wirklich ein Remake sei, man erfinde nur das Szenario neu. Im Ton und Feeling soll es nah an The Grey - Unter Wölfen und Narc sein, stellt er sich vor - bei beiden Filmen führte Carnahan Regie. Das Original sei ein fantastischer Film, man solle sicher sein, dass man nichts mache, wenn man nicht etwas wirklich sehr Spezielles vorhabe.
Das weckt zumindest Neugier, auch wenn die Fans des indonesischen Action-Doppelschlags The Raid und The Raid 2 sicher vorerst weiter skeptisch bleiben...
