Die ganz großen Überraschungen, was Filmspots angeht, sind beim Super Bowl ausgeblieben. Mit einer Ausnahme vielleicht: Lionsgate und CBS Films haben vier Mini-Spots zu Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark ins Rennen geschickt und diese als Compilation zusammengefasst.
Unser erster Blick auf den von Guillermo del Toro produzierten und initiierten Horrorfilm, der auf den gruseligen Kinderbüchern von Alvin Schwartz (mit fast noch gruseligeren Illustrationen von Stephen Gammell) basiert. "Big Toe", "Jangly Man", "Pale Lady" und "Red Spot" lauten die Titel der Teaser, zu denen es auf Twitter noch ein paar mehr Hinweise gibt. Wie sehr sich Regisseur André Øvredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe) die Bücher visuell zu Herzen genommen hat, zeigt das erste Poster: Die mörderische Vogelscheuche Harold kommt ihrem gezeichneten Vorbild schon sehr nahe...
"Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" Super Bowl-Compilation
Es ist das Jahr 1968 in Amerika. Veränderung liegt in der Luft... aber scheinbar weit entfernt von der Unruhe in den Städten ist die Kleinstadt Mill Valley, wo der Schatten der Bellows-Familie seit Generationen bedrohlich aufragt. In ihrer Villa am Rande des Städtchens geschah es, dass Sarah (Kathleen Pollard, The Strain), ein junges Mädchen mit schrecklichen Geheimnissen, ihr qualvolles Leben in einer Reihe von Gruselgeschichten verarbeitet hat, niedergeschrieben in einem Buch, das die Zeit überdauert hat. Geschichten, die für eine Gruppe von Teenagern, die Sarahs grauenerregendes Zuhause entdecken, nur allzu real werden.
Zoe Colletti (Annie), Austin Abrams (Margos Spuren), Gabriel Rush (Moonrise Kingdom), Michael Garza (Die Tribute von Panem - Mockingjay Teil 1), Austin Zajur (Fist Fight), Dean Norris (Breaking Bad), Gil Bellows (Die Verurteilten), Lorraine Touissant (Selma) und Natalie Ganzhorn (Make It Pop) bilden die weitere Besetzung des Films. Nur schade, dass sich für Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark noch kein deutscher Starttermin gefunden hat.
